This and several more of our Angel Pendants are made by the Ladies Of Zindagi, an NGO initiative set up to provide health clinics, education and employment for women in an area where the regime change has left too many struggling to survive.
The gorgeous blue colour of lapis lazuli has inspired artists for thousands of years, from the ancient Egyptians to Renaissance painters who ground the stone to make the colour pigment called ultramarine used for clothes, skies and water.
All our jewellery is handmade and many of our gemstones are hand cut. We know where each piece is made and who makes it. We adhere to ethical principles in our manufacture and all our artists work in small, beautiful workshops and earn a fair living wage. This is an artisan product.
