Gift from the Angels, by Angel Jewellery
I’ve just been made a Grandmother for the 14th time. Spellbound once again in the bubble of babyland, involuntarily suspended in that ephemeral place between the worlds, I gawk at her tiny head attached to the enormous breast..
In a silky otherworld we woo our newborn, knowing her birth is not simply the physical exiting of the womb, but a perfect process of becoming, gently earthed, and now, as the weeks pass, as if through a Narnian storm, she has emerged, arrived newly bodied, to live amongst her clan, her people, re-incarnate.
Her mother looks like a Madonna, euphoric and flushed, and smelling of sweet milk. All bow to her wishes as she and the infant radiate from the centre of the bubble. Respect.
Now the household is in turmoil, insane with sibling rivalry and the endless whirring from the wash room, but Madonna keeps cool. She too will emerge from the rapture. They grin at me, this out of nowhere? This out of Love I grin back.
Feighlim Tara, Sarah, Amy,Sasha, Sophie and Baby.Congratulations.
Blessings and Love from Mum.
